Principal's Corner
Kris Perkins

Mr. Kris Perkins

I am excited to join the Olive Branch community and to serve the students, parents, and teachers of Olive Branch Middle School. I have been in DeSoto County Schools for the past 8 years and in education for 10 years. I graduated from Harding University with my Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and received my Master's degree from Arkansas State University in Educational Leadership. I also currently serve in the Arkansas Army National Guard. I have been married to my wife Jennica for 10 years and have two sons, Jackson and Jordan.

It is my honor to serve as Principal at Olive Branch Middle School. It will be my goal to create a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students to reach their individual potential. Developing and continuing the concept of "OB Pride" is vital to our identity as a school community and will be achieved through high expectations for students both behaviorally and academically. I am fully prepared to embrace my role in the "Quistor" family and will strive to provide the highest level of leadership. I look forward to a great school year!

I am excited to be starting my second year here at Olive Branch Middle School. Before becoming a Quistor, I was an ELA instructional coach. Prior to that, I was a classroom teacher at Horn Lake Elementary School. I hold a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Elementary Education and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Leadership.

My educational philosophy is that all students deserve a positive, encouraging, learning environment in which they feel safe to take risks in order to learn from mistakes as well as successes. Here at OBMS, I am committed to making the transition from elementary to middle school a positive experience for all students.
