About the Teacher

I am so thrilled to be at Olive Branch Middle School teaching 7th grade ELA. Teaching has always been my passion, and I look forward to working with my students to help them grow in the area of English/Language Arts.
I was born and raised in New Orleans, Louisiana, and moved to Southaven in 2005. My family and I lost our home in Hurricane Katrina, so we quickly made the MidSouth our home.
I have been married to my husband Steven for 22 years and we have 3 wonderful children. My oldest daughter is a senior at DCHS, my youngest daughter is a freshman at DCHS and my son is in 5th grade at DCES. They are our pride and joy and keep us extremely busy.
In my spare time, I love to spend time with my family, cooking, reading, going to my son's baseball games and my daughter's soccer games. Family is very important to me as is my job when I enter my class everyday. Your children become my children, and I promise to care and educate them as if they are my own.
It is going to be a fabulous year because OB is the Place to Be!!!!

Education
I hold a Bachelor of Arts degree in English education and an additional certification in Library Science from the University of New Orleans.

Experience
I have taught 7th grade English/Language Arts for seven years, preschool for eight years, 3rd grade for one year, and have been a school librarian for three years.
