About the Teacher

Education and Experience: I graduated from the University of Memphis in 2014 with a Bachelors of Arts degree majoring in African American Studies. I currently attend Belhaven University where I received my teaching license through the alternate route MAT program with an endorsement in Special Education.

I have been an assistant for Desoto County Schools for a little over 10 years. For the last 7 of those years I have worked in Special Education and it is where I belong. It has taught me patience and also it sparks my creativity.

This is my first year as a certified teacher and I am very excited for this new journey, My goal is to build strong relationships and making learning a fun and positive experience for both my students and I.

I am a single mom to three wonderful children that keep me on my toes. Alicyn, Josiah, and Rylee attend Olive Branch schools. They are my biggest cheerleaders always encouraging me to keep going. We enjoy family road trips, movie nights, and taking walks.
