About the Teacher

I attended Delta State University where I received my Bachelor's Degree in English.  I received my Gifted certification at The University of Mississippi, and in 2006, I received my National Board Certification. In 2018, I received my Masters in Gifted, Talented, and Creative Education from The University of Arkansas.  I guess you're never too old!!

1991-1999   7th and 8th grade English teacher
2004-2019   6th grade Spotlight teacher

I have been married to Kyle Brigance for 28 years and have two children: Anna who is 25 and Garrison who is 22.  We are members of Great Commission Church in Olive Branch.  I began my teaching career in 1991 as a seventh grade English teacher. I left teaching for four years to stay home with my children and was asked to come back to OBMS as the gifted teacher when both children were in school.  I have loved every minute of teaching the gifted students.

Welcome to Spotlight

I will be your Spotlight teacher for the year and am very excited for the opportunity to learn right alongside all of you.

My goal is to challenge each one of you in ways you've never been challenged while having fun doing it.

Come to class ready to learn and give every task 100%.

This is going to be a wonderful year.
