Bio

Jim Mayo is in his 19th year with the schools in Olive Branch.  After graduating from Olive Branch High in 1995, he attended Northwest Community College where he was a member of the marching band, concert band, jazz band, choir, & played drums for the Entertainers vocal group.  He then entered Delta State University where he graduated in 2000 with his Bachelors in Music Education.  After student teaching in Southaven, MS,  Mr. Mayo was hired at Olive Branch Middle School as an assistant director/percussion instructor.  During his time with the bands, Mr. Mayo saw the band earn it's first ever superior ratings and was a part of the now celebrated "All Superior" Conquistador Band. After completing 17 years in band, Mr. Mayo decided it was time for a change.  Mr. Mayo accepted a position as the RAMP teacher for Olive Branch Middle School, an in-school suspension program aimed at modifying student behavior and restoring them to the classroom after severe consistent behavior problems.  Mr. Mayo lives in Coldwater, MS with his wife Kathryn of 17 years and his sons Drew (14) and Jay (9).  Mr. Mayo is an active deacon for Longview Point Baptist Church in Hernando, MS.
